Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A/B) for local deliveries and short-haul routes within DC, Maryland, and Virginia
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, vehicle inspection reports, and compliance documentation
- Load/unload cargo using proper techniques and equipment handling protocols
- Adhere to DOT regulations, local traffic laws, and company safety policies
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure roadworthiness
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route optimization and on-time deliveries
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- Familiarity with DC metropolitan area geography and traffic patterns
- Basic knowledge of cargo securement and hazmat handling (if applicable)
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varying weather conditions
- Professional communication skills and customer service orientation
