Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B CDL required) to safely transport cargo to designated delivery points in Chicago and surrounding suburbs.
- Load and unload trailers and cargo using proper forklifts or hand jacks, ensuring cargo security and safety.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and DOT regulations to ensure a safe driving record.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections, documenting any mechanical issues immediately.
- Interact professionally with customers at delivery sites, handling paperwork and proof of delivery accurately.
- Maintain a clean and organized truck cab and cargo area at all times.
- Report any accidents or incidents to dispatch in a timely manner.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (DOT Medical Card) or willing to obtain one.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of local Chicago area streets, landmarks, and traffic patterns.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform routine vehicle checks and minor troubleshooting.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
