Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) safely and efficiently to deliver cargo to designated locations.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload freight, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo.
- Maintain accurate logbooks and electronic logging devices (ELD) in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery times and route changes.
- Keep the vehicle interior and exterior clean and organized.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a DOT physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of New York roadways and traffic patterns.
- Basic mechanical skills to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 lbs occasionally.
