Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A trucks to deliver freight to designated locations in Detroit and surrounding areas.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts or manual labor, ensuring all freight is secure and damage-free.
- Maintain accurate logbooks, electronic records, and delivery paperwork according to FMCSA regulations.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company driving policies to ensure a clean driving record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A required.
- Must have a clean MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) with no more than 2 preventable accidents in the last 3 years.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical and drug screen.
- Strong knowledge of trucking equipment, air brakes, and DOT regulations.
- Excellent customer service skills and the ability to work independently.
