Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transport
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Maintain accurate attendance and incident documentation
- Adhere to emergency procedures and evacuation protocols
- Support students with special needs as required by IEP plans
Qualifications
- Valid Washington State driver's license with clean driving record
- Pass background check and drug screening requirements
- Ability to obtain Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience when working with children
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks (e.g., securing wheelchairs)
- Flexibility to adjust routes and schedules as needed
- High school diploma or equivalent required
