Responsibilities
- Transport students to and from school and school activities in a safe, timely, and courteous manner.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is safe for operation.
- Monitor and manage student behavior on the bus to maintain a safe environment.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they remain seated while the bus is in motion.
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding delays or issues.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, school district policies, and safety regulations at all times.
Qualifications
- Must possess a valid Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, or be willing to obtain them through our paid training program.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and a background check.
- Excellent driving record with no major violations in the past 3-5 years.
- Strong communication skills and a patient, friendly demeanor when interacting with students.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting luggage or assisting passengers.
