Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Ensure student safety during boarding, transit, and exiting
- Maintain a positive and orderly environment on the bus
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Adhere to all traffic laws and school district policies
- Complete daily trip logs and incident reports as required
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or willingness to obtain one (training provided)
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Ability to obtain a Texas School Bus Driver Certificate
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual and reliable with excellent attendance
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections
- Patience and ability to work well with children
