Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers for overnight freight delivery across San Jose and Bay Area routes
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to strict HOS regulations and DOT compliance standards
- Load/unload freight using proper material handling equipment and securement protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients regarding delivery status
- Utilize GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning and real-time traffic avoidance
- Document delivery exceptions and maintain electronic logbooks
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable OTR or regional truck driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with Hazmat placarding and DOT regulations
- Strong time management skills for strict delivery windows
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices and transportation management systems
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM) with variable schedules
