Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial Class A vehicles during night hours, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using forklifts, pallet jacks, or manual handling as required.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and daily logs.
- Navigate complex DC traffic patterns and delivery zones efficiently during low-traffic hours.
- Ensure cargo is secure and protected from weather and road hazards.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class A with a clean driving record (MVR).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial truck driving experience.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Current DOT medical card.
- Strong understanding of DOT regulations, hours of service (HOS), and safety protocols.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in various weather conditions.
