Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers for overnight deliveries within the Chicago metropolitan area and surrounding regions
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle compliance with DOT regulations
- Accurately document delivery logs, mileage reports, and vehicle maintenance records
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules while maintaining safety-first protocols
- Communicate effectively with dispatch team regarding route updates and delivery status
- Perform secure cargo loading/unloading procedures with warehouse personnel
- Maintain clean driving record and comply with all federal/state transportation laws
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience with night shift preference
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Proficient in electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation systems
- Strong understanding of FMCSA regulations and safety protocols
- Ability to work independently while maintaining professional communication
- Pass background check and drug screening as per company policy
- Flexibility to work overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM) with occasional weekend hours
