Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial trucks (Class A CDL) for regional night shift deliveries
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate DOT compliance logs
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment handling protocols
- Navigate optimized routes using GPS technology for on-time deliveries
- Communicate with dispatch team regarding delivery status and route adjustments
- Adhere to strict HOS regulations and company safety standards
- Complete electronic logging systems (ELD) and documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (3+ years experience)
- Ability to work independently during night shifts (6 PM - 6 AM)
- Knowledge of DC/MD/VA metro area roadways and traffic patterns
- Pass DOT physical and random drug screening requirements
- Experience with refrigerated or flatbed freight preferred
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
