Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 tractor-trailers on overnight routes within Texas and surrounding states
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and document vehicle maintenance
- Load/unload freight with precision using pallet jacks and forklifts
- Adhere to HOS regulations and maintain electronic logs (ELD)
- Communicate with dispatch team regarding route changes and delivery status
- Secure cargo and verify shipping documentation
- Represent SwiftHaul with professionalism at customer facilities
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 2 years verifiable experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with Texas roadways and regional geography
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in overnight conditions
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic mechanical knowledge for roadside troubleshooting
