Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial trucks for local/regional night deliveries
- Perform thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain electronic logs
- Load/unload freight using pallet jacks and forklifts (training provided)
- Adhere to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Communicate with dispatch via ELD system for real-time updates
- Manage time-sensitive deliveries across metro Detroit area
- Maintain clean driving record with zero preventable incidents
- Assist in freight security during transit and at delivery points
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 2 years verifiable experience
- Clean MVR (no DUIs, reckless driving, or major preventable accidents)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds repeatedly and operate loading equipment
- Familiarity with Detroit metro area routes and traffic patterns
- Pass DOT physical and random drug screening program
- Experience with refrigerated or flatbed trailers preferred
- Strong time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently in low-visibility night conditions
