Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A tractor-trailers during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Transport goods between Chicago distribution centers and regional hubs
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging system compliance
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Adapt to dynamic routes using GPS navigation and real-time traffic data
- Ensure temperature-controlled cargo integrity for sensitive shipments
- Collaborate with dispatch team for on-time delivery coordination
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Night shift driving experience preferred
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
- Strong knowledge of Chicago-area roadways and restrictions
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Flexibility for occasional weekend shifts during peak seasons
