Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles for local/short-haul routes within NYC metro area
- Load/unload freight using pallet jacks and hand trucks with proper lifting techniques
- Complete accurate delivery paperwork and electronic logging (ELD)
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Maintain strict adherence to DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Communicate with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Manage time efficiently to meet delivery windows
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly during loading/unloading
- Strong knowledge of NYC boroughs and traffic patterns
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Basic computer skills for ELD documentation
- Flexibility for occasional weekend shifts
- Commercial cargo insurance preferred
