Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers for overnight freight delivery across designated routes
- Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle compliance with DOT regulations
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and documentation using electronic logging systems
- Collaborate with dispatch team for real-time route optimization and load coordination
- Secure cargo and maintain temperature control for sensitive shipments
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery and pickup interactions
- Participate in ongoing safety training and equipment maintenance programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years of tractor-trailer experience with night shift preference
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Familiarity with Chicago metro area navigation and highway systems
- Strong time management skills for strict delivery deadlines
- Basic mechanical knowledge for roadside troubleshooting
- Pass background check and drug screening per company policy
