Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles on overnight routes throughout San Diego County
- Load/unload freight with proper securing techniques and documentation
- Maintain electronic logs (ELD) and comply with FMCSA regulations
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs
- Coordinate with dispatchers for route adjustments and delivery confirmations
- Uphold exceptional customer service during client interactions
- Adapt to changing traffic conditions and delivery schedules
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years OTR or regional driving experience
- Familiarity with San Diego metro area and border crossings
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment
- Strong attention to detail and time management skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Basic navigation technology proficiency (GPS, ELD)
- Availability for flexible overnight schedules (Sun-Thu)
