Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van and refrigerated) during night shift hours
- Adhere to strict delivery schedules and DOT regulations
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and basic maintenance checks
- Load/unload freight with proper equipment and securement techniques
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients
- Support cross-coverage between Washington DC and Florida routes
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to work independently during overnight shifts (10 PM - 6 AM)
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Familiarity with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs regularly
- Flexibility for regional travel between DC and Florida
