Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL) for overnight freight deliveries within Sacramento and surrounding areas
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifest documentation, and electronic tracking systems
- Perform pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle compliance with DOT regulations
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient route optimization and on-time deliveries
- Handle hazardous materials shipments with proper certification and safety protocols
- Provide exceptional customer service during delivery interactions and issue resolution
- Monitor vehicle maintenance schedules and report mechanical concerns promptly
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of commercial driving experience in transportation/logistics
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs and operate in various weather conditions
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD) and GPS navigation systems
- Strong time-management skills for strict overnight delivery deadlines
- Pass background check and drug screening per company policy
- Excellent communication skills in English (bilingual Spanish a plus)
- Flexibility to work weekends and holidays as required
