Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A CDL required) on overnight delivery routes throughout Virginia Beach and surrounding areas
- Load/unload freight with precision using appropriate equipment while maintaining strict safety protocols
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documenting all vehicle maintenance requirements
- Adhere to HOS regulations and GPS routing systems for efficient, on-time deliveries
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging system compliance
- Communicate proactively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery status and potential delays
- Represent Coastal Logistics Solutions professionally in all customer interactions
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate loading equipment safely
- Strong knowledge of Virginia traffic laws and DOT regulations
- Exceptional time management and route optimization skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision during overnight shifts
- Pass background check and drug screening per company policy
- Basic navigation skills and familiarity with Virginia Beach area
