Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial motor vehicles (CMVs) on local and regional routes within Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and safety standards.
- Load and unload cargo using appropriate equipment, ensuring weight distribution and security.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all necessary paperwork.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, company policies, and safety regulations while driving.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and any delays.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with the required endorsements (Hazmat, Tanker, or Doubles/Triples preferred).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Current Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) and negative drug screen results.
- Ability to work night shifts (typically 10:00 PM - 6:00 AM) on a regular, consistent basis.
- Strong knowledge of Louisiana roadways, including bridges, tunnels, and industrial zones.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and time management abilities.
- Must pass a background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) review.
