Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (dry van/refrigerated) on designated overnight routes
- Perform pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations and HOS compliance throughout shifts
- Load/unload shipments with precision using hydraulic tailgates and pallet jacks
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients regarding delivery status
- Navigate complex urban routes using GPS and knowledge of DC area
- Submit electronic logs and delivery documentation via onboard systems
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 70 lbs repeatedly and work in various weather conditions
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safety protocols
- Pass background check and drug screening (company-mandated)
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices (ELD)
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
