Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMVs) on designated routes in and around Chicago.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, adhering to weight distribution and cargo securement standards.
- Maintain accurate electronic logging device (ELD) records and all required DOT documentation.
- Interact professionally with customers and warehouse personnel to ensure timely deliveries.
- Report mechanical issues or road hazards immediately to fleet management.
- Keep the cab and cargo area clean and organized at all times.
Qualifications
- Valid and current Class A CDL license.
- Current DOT Medical Examiner's Certificate.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable commercial driving experience.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Flexibility to work night shifts (typically 11:00 PM - 7:00 AM) and weekends.
- Physical capability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform manual tasks.
