Responsibilities
- Safely navigate Washington DC metropolitan area during overnight hours (10 PM - 6 AM) using GPS navigation systems
- Load/unload packages with precision while adhering to weight and safety protocols
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic proof-of-delivery documentation
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure operational safety
- Communicate proactively with dispatch team regarding route delays or delivery exceptions
- Represent MetroSwift Logistics professionally through courteous customer interactions
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and local traffic laws throughout shifts
Qualifications
- Valid commercial driver's license (Class A or B) with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year professional delivery or commercial driving experience
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly and operate electric pallet jacks
- Proficiency with mobile scanning devices and route optimization apps
- Exceptional knowledge of Washington DC geography and traffic patterns
- Strong time management skills with ability to meet strict delivery windows
- Basic mechanical knowledge for minor roadside troubleshooting
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening per DOT requirements
