Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) in compliance with DOT and company regulations.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance.
- Load and unload freight efficiently, ensuring cargo security and proper documentation.
- Maintain accurate logs and paperwork, including electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols to ensure a accident-free driving record.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding delivery schedules and issues.
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and report any mechanical issues immediately.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) is required.
- Must be 21 years of age or older to operate interstate commerce.
- Must possess a clean driving record with no major violations (DUI, reckless driving, etc.).
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical exam.
- Willingness to undergo company-sponsored training programs for new drivers.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and a commitment to safety.
- Basic computer literacy for log entry and paperwork.
