Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, blood products, and sensitive materials using temperature-controlled vehicles
- Maintain strict chain-of-custody documentation and HIPAA compliance protocols
- Coordinate with hospitals, labs, and clinics for efficient pickup/delivery schedules
- Perform vehicle inspections and maintenance checks daily
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for real-time route optimization
- Handle emergency STAT deliveries with urgency and professionalism
- Train on specialized medical packaging and biohazard procedures
Qualifications
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean driving record
- 1+ years experience in medical or specimen transport preferred
- OSHA bloodborne pathogen certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Proficiency in digital tracking systems (e.g., Teletrac, Route4Me)
- Exceptional time management and organizational skills
- Clear background check and drug screening required
- High school diploma or equivalent; college coursework a plus
