Responsibilities
- Safely transport medical specimens, pharmaceuticals, and lab supplies in temperature-controlled vehicles
- Maintain precise delivery schedules with GPS tracking and real-time route optimization
- Verify specimen integrity and chain-of-custody documentation for compliance
- Coordinate with healthcare facilities using HIPAA-compliant communication systems
- Perform vehicle maintenance checks and quality control inspections
- Document delivery exceptions and maintain electronic manifests
- Adhere to OSHA and DOT safety protocols at all times
Qualifications
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record (3+ years)
- Medical courier or specimen handling experience preferred
- OSHA Bloodborne Pathogens certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Strong knowledge of Newark area and Northern NJ geography
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate temperature-controlled equipment
- Excellent time management with attention to detail
- Background check and drug screening required
- High school diploma or equivalent
