Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B CDL required) to deliver goods to designated locations in the Washington DC metro area.
- Perform thorough daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo using pallet jacks and hand trucks, ensuring items are secured properly.
- Interact professionally with customers and clients, representing the Capital Logistics brand positively.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and delivery receipts.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in a commercial or local delivery role.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening.
- Strong knowledge of the Washington DC and surrounding Maryland/Virginia area.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs repeatedly and standing for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for logging deliveries and electronic logging device (ELD) compliance.
