Responsibilities
- Safely operate commercial delivery vehicles to deliver freight to customers in the Sacramento metropolitan area.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper weight distribution and securing freight to prevent damage.
- Interact professionally with customers, verifying deliveries and obtaining signatures where necessary.
- Complete all required paperwork, including delivery logs (DVIR) and electronic logging devices (ELD).
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance while adhering to all company policies and DOT regulations.
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with a clean driving record (no DUIs or major violations in the last 3 years).
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable experience as a route driver or in a similar logistics role.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Basic math skills for making change and managing delivery documents.
- Ability to lift and carry packages up to 50 lbs repeatedly throughout the shift.
