Responsibilities
- Safely operate a Class B straight truck or similar vehicle on established local delivery routes in the Jacksonville area.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure DOT compliance and vehicle safety.
- Load and unload freight accurately, ensuring cargo security and proper handling techniques.
- Verify delivery quantities and obtain customer signatures or electronic proof of delivery.
- Maintain accurate driver logs, mileage records, and delivery documentation.
- Interact professionally with customers and resolve delivery issues on the spot.
- Adhere strictly to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Class B (or equivalent experience for local delivery).
- Minimum of 1-2 years of driving experience preferred.
- Clean driving record (MVR) with no serious violations or DUIs within the last 7 years.
- Ability to pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination.
- Strong knowledge of Jacksonville, FL, geography and local traffic patterns.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to perform minor vehicle adjustments.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are mandatory.
