Responsibilities
- Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety compliance.
- Load and unload freight safely and efficiently using proper lifting techniques and equipment.
- Deliver freight to designated stops in a timely and courteous manner.
- Obey all traffic laws and safety regulations while operating commercial vehicles.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and paperwork (e.g., BOLs, manifests).
- Interact professionally with customers and resolve any delivery issues.
- Keep the vehicle clean and perform routine maintenance as needed.
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience as a local route driver preferred.
- Satisfactory motor vehicle record (MVR) with no major violations.
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Strong time management and organizational skills.
- Basic mechanical aptitude to handle minor vehicle issues.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends and holidays if required.
