Responsibilities
- Operate commercial vehicles (Class A or B) in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the safety of the cargo and the vehicle.
- Load and unload cargo securely, ensuring weight distribution is balanced.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and electronic logging device (ELD) records.
- Provide exceptional customer service during deliveries, including proper handling of freight and documentation.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers regarding schedules and any delays.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or Class B (depending on vehicle type).
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience in the last 3 years (clean driving record).
- Ability to pass a DOT drug screen and background check.
- Strong knowledge of Washington, DC and surrounding area roadways.
- Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and operating manual transmission vehicles.
- Must be available for immediate start.
