Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes following traffic laws and district protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and ensure vehicle maintenance compliance
- Supervise students during transit, maintaining a respectful and orderly environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding schedules and incidents
- Adhere to strict safety procedures for student loading/unloading and emergency situations
- Maintain accurate attendance and route documentation
Qualifications
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening (pre-employment and random)
- Clean driving record with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist with student mobility needs
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
- High school diploma or equivalent required
