Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses following designated routes and schedules
- Conduct pre/post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety
- Manage student behavior and maintain a positive, orderly environment
- Adhere strictly to traffic laws and district safety protocols
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch
- Complete accurate trip documentation and incident reports
- Assist students with special mobility needs when required
Qualifications
- Valid Indiana driver's license with clean record
- Ability to obtain CDL with School Bus Endorsement (training provided)
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills
- Patience and ability to work with diverse age groups
- Basic mechanical knowledge for vehicle inspections
- Availability to work early morning/afternoon shifts
- High school diploma or equivalent
