Responsibilities
- Deliver Packages: Safely and efficiently transport packages and documents to designated addresses in Washington DC and surrounding areas.
- Customer Interaction: Provide professional, friendly service to clients, ensuring packages are handled with care and delivered on time.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Perform routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle is in safe operating condition.
- Route Navigation: Utilize GPS and mapping tools to plan optimal routes and manage delivery schedules effectively.
- Documentation: Accurately complete delivery receipts, digital logs, and any required paperwork.
Qualifications
- Valid Driver's License: Must possess a valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record (no more than 2 moving violations in the last 3 years).
- Physical Capability: Ability to lift packages weighing up to 50 lbs repeatedly and stand for extended periods.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with customers.
- Technology Proficiency: Comfortable using smartphones for navigation, scanning, and communicating with dispatch.
- Local Knowledge: Familiarity with the traffic patterns and streets of Washington DC is highly preferred.
