Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles on designated routes through Chula Vista and greater San Diego area
- Conduct thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle maintenance logs
- Load/unload cargo with precision while adhering to safety protocols and weight regulations
- Optimize delivery routes to ensure timely arrivals and fuel efficiency
- Communicate proactively with dispatch, clients, and warehouse teams regarding shipment status
- Comply strictly with DOT regulations, HOS requirements, and company safety standards
- Complete electronic logging systems (ELD) and delivery documentation with meticulous accuracy
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL license with clean MVR (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable Class A driving experience in commercial transportation
- Pass DOT physical examination and pre-employment drug screening
- Proficiency in using GPS navigation systems and electronic logging devices
- Ability to lift up to 70 pounds repeatedly during loading/unloading operations
- Strong knowledge of California traffic laws and industrial zone regulations
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills for dynamic delivery environments
- Willingness to work flexible shifts including early mornings and weekends as needed
