Responsibilities
- Safely operate box trucks for local and regional deliveries within Washington, DC, Maryland, and Virginia
- Plan and optimize delivery routes to meet tight deadlines and fuel efficiency standards
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, manifests, and required documentation
- Inspect vehicles before/after shifts to ensure compliance with DOT regulations
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams and clients regarding delivery status
- Manage cargo loading/unloading procedures with precision and care
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols during operations
Qualifications
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years of box truck or heavy commercial vehicle experience
- DOT medical certification and familiarity with FMCSA regulations
- Strong knowledge of Washington, DC metropolitan area geography
- Proven ability to manage time-sensitive delivery schedules
- Basic mechanical troubleshooting skills for on-road repairs
- Exceptional customer service and communication abilities
- Reliable personal vehicle and smartphone for dispatch coordination
