Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and maintain clean, well-maintained buses
- Monitor student behavior and implement positive classroom management techniques
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Adapt routes for field trips, extracurricular activities, and special events
- Complete accurate daily logs and incident reports
- Participate in mandatory safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid Florida Commercial Driver's License (Class B) with Passenger endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Clear driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Pass federal background check and drug screening
- Florida School Bus Driver Certification or willingness to obtain
- Strong communication skills and patience with children
- Ability to lift 25 lbs and operate wheelchair lifts if required
- Basic first aid/CPR certification preferred
