Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes adhering to strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections ensuring mechanical safety
- Supervise student behavior during transit maintaining a positive and secure environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and district administrators
- Adapt routes efficiently during traffic, weather, or emergency situations
- Maintain accurate records including mileage, incidents, and student counts
- Participate in mandatory safety training and certification programs
Qualifications
- Valid California Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Passenger & School Bus endorsements
- Clean driving record with no more than 2 moving violations in past 3 years
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening requirements
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Clearances through DOJ/FBI background checks
- Excellent communication skills and patience working with children
