Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and mechanical soundness
- Supervise student passengers during transit, maintaining order and positive interactions
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and dispatch regarding schedules and concerns
- Complete accurate trip logs and incident reports as required
- Maintain a clean and orderly vehicle interior
- Respond appropriately to emergencies and medical situations
Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) endorsement
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Clear criminal background check and driving record
- Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and assist students with mobility needs
- Commitment to punctuality and reliability
- Experience working with children preferred
