Responsibilities
- Operate the school bus safely and route efficiently, strictly adhering to all traffic laws and district policies.
- Ensure the safety, well-being, and proper conduct of students while boarding, riding, and disembarking the bus.
- Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure mechanical safety and cleanliness.
- Maintain a professional demeanor and communicate effectively with school staff, parents, and students.
- Follow all safety procedures to prevent accidents and ensure passenger security.
- Complete all required administrative paperwork, including daily logs and incident reports, accurately and on time.
- Assist students with special needs when required, following individualized education plans (IEPs).
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements.
- Current DOT Medical Card.
- Clean driving record with no major traffic violations within the last 3 years.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check, drug screen, and physical examination.
- Strong commitment to student safety and customer service.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including early mornings and late afternoons.
