Responsibilities
- Transport students safely to and from school on designated routes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure bus safety and mechanical integrity.
- Maintain a clean and orderly bus environment at all times.
- Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, ensuring they are safe.
- Follow all traffic laws, school district policies, and safety protocols strictly.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, school staff, and parents.
- Manage student behavior on the bus to ensure a safe riding environment.
Qualifications
- Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
- Clear driving record (no major violations within the last 3-5 years).
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
- Strong interpersonal skills and patience when working with children.
- Physical ability to handle boarding and exiting students and to stand for extended periods.
- Willingness to work early morning and/or afternoon shifts.
