Responsibilities
- Safely operate dump trucks to transport construction materials (gravel, asphalt, demolition debris)
- Perform thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate vehicle logs
- Adhere strictly to OSHA safety protocols and DOT regulations
- Coordinate with site supervisors and dispatch teams for efficient loading/unloading
- Perform basic maintenance checks and report mechanical issues promptly
- Operate specialized equipment (hydraulic controls, dump mechanisms) with precision
- Maintain clean vehicles and secure loads per safety standards
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years' experience operating dump trucks in construction/transportation
- Ability to pass DOT physical and random drug screening
- Familiarity with Chicago traffic patterns and construction zones
- Strong attention to detail and mechanical aptitude
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Must provide own steel-toe boots and work gloves
