Responsibilities
- Safely transport students to/from schools and extracurricular activities
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections and pre-trip safety checks
- Maintain accurate student attendance and route documentation
- Communicate professionally with parents, school staff, and dispatchers
- Implement emergency procedures and ensure child safety protocols
- Adhere to strict traffic laws and defensive driving practices
- Report maintenance issues and maintain vehicle cleanliness
Qualifications
- Valid Louisiana Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus Endorsement
- Minimum 2 years professional driving experience
- Pass DOT physical and drug screening
- Excellent driving record with no major violations
- Child CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings, afternoons)
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Background check clearance through Department of Education
