Responsibilities
- Safely operate school buses on designated routes, adhering strictly to traffic laws and safety protocols
- Conduct pre-trip inspections and vehicle maintenance checks to ensure optimal safety
- Supervise student boarding, exiting, and behavior during transit to maintain a secure environment
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation supervisors
- Maintain accurate transportation logs and incident reports as required
- Respond proactively to emergency situations and student medical needs
- Participate in ongoing safety training and professional development
Qualifications
- Valid California Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) with passenger and air brake endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience with clean driving record
- Pass DOT physical examination and drug screening
- Current First Aid/CPR certification
- Ability to work flexible hours (early mornings and afternoons)
- Excellent communication and conflict resolution skills
- Background clearance through DOJ/FBI clearance process
- Experience working with children preferred
