Responsibilities
- Safely transport K-12 students on designated routes following strict safety protocols
- Conduct pre/post-trip inspections of buses and report maintenance needs
- Maintain orderly conduct and ensure student safety during all trips
- Adapt routes for field trips, athletic events, and emergency evacuations
- Communicate effectively with parents, school staff, and transportation coordinators
- Complete detailed incident reports and maintain accurate documentation
- Adhere to federal/state transportation regulations and school district policies
Qualifications
- Valid Virginia Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with School Bus (S) and Passenger (P) endorsements
- Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience with clean MVR
- Pass DOT physical, drug screening, and background check
- First Aid/CPR certification or willingness to obtain
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and operate bus controls independently
- Strong communication skills and patience when working with children
- Knowledge of Richmond area streets and traffic patterns preferred
