Responsibilities
- Safely transport freight between DC metropolitan area distribution centers and key East Coast hubs
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging system compliance
- Perform pre-trip inspections and basic vehicle maintenance checks
- Optimize routes to ensure on-time delivery in high-traffic urban environments
- Collaborate with logistics team to resolve delivery exceptions
- Adhere strictly to DOT regulations and company safety protocols
- Represent Capital Logistics with professional conduct at all client sites
Qualifications
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with clean driving record
- Minimum 3 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- HAZMAT certification (or willingness to obtain within 30 days)
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices and route navigation software
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in all weather conditions
- Excellent time management and problem-solving skills
- Pass background check and drug screening
- Knowledge of DC metropolitan area traffic patterns preferred
