Responsibilities
- Safely operate Class 8 commercial vehicles to transport freight across Alaska's highways and remote routes
- Adhere to strict DOT regulations, HOS compliance, and pre/post-trip inspection protocols
- Utilize GPS tracking systems for efficient route navigation and real-time delivery updates
- Load/unload cargo with proper securing techniques using straps, chains, and tarps
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and electronic logging systems
- Communicate with dispatch teams to resolve route challenges and delivery exceptions
- Participate in quarterly safety training and equipment maintenance workshops
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 2 years verifiable tractor-trailer experience
- Clean MVR with no major violations in past 3 years
- Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screening requirements
- Experience in winter driving conditions and familiarity with Alaskan highways
- Basic mechanical knowledge for roadside troubleshooting
- Strong communication skills and customer service orientation
- Flexibility to work irregular schedules including weekends and holidays
- High school diploma or equivalent required
