Responsibilities
- Operate Class A tractor-trailers on dedicated routes between DC metropolitan area and key East Coast hubs
- Adhere strictly to FMCSA regulations, DOT guidelines, and company safety protocols
- Complete thorough pre/post-trip inspections and maintain accurate electronic logs (ELD)
- Coordinate with dispatch team for efficient load planning and delivery timelines
- Represent Capital Fleet Logistics professionally with clients and at delivery points
- Utilize advanced telematics systems for route optimization and performance monitoring
- Participate in quarterly safety training and equipment maintenance programs
Qualifications
- Valid Class A CDL with minimum 2 years OTR experience
- Clean driving record (no major violations in past 3 years)
- Ability to pass rigorous background check and DOT physical examination
- Proficiency with electronic logging devices and GPS navigation systems
- Strong understanding of hazmat regulations (Hazmat endorsement preferred)
- Proven ability to operate independently while maintaining communication standards
- Flexibility for occasional overnight stays and weekend deliveries
