Responsibilities
- Operate box trucks (24-26ft) for time-sensitive local/regional freight deliveries
- Optimize routes using advanced GPS tracking to ensure on-time performance
- Maintain rigorous vehicle inspection protocols and preventive maintenance schedules
- Coordinate with dispatch team for real-time load adjustments and priority shipments
- Document all deliveries, inventory, and incident reports using digital platforms
- Build strong client relationships through professional communication and reliability
- Adhere to DOT regulations and safety standards at all times
Qualifications
- Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record (no major violations in 3 years)
- Minimum 2 years verifiable box truck or straight truck experience
- Proven ability to manage independent contractor responsibilities
- Strong knowledge of Portland metro area and Pacific Northwest logistics
- Commercial liability insurance ($1M minimum) and cargo coverage
- Reliable 24-26ft box truck (2008 or newer, under 200k miles)
- Proficient with smartphone apps for navigation and load tracking
- Ability to pass comprehensive background check and drug screening
